Janice Helen (Dye) Bice, 66 yrs old of New Berlin, NY passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Burlington Flats, NY on Thursday, March 27, 2014.

She was born to Gerald and Harriett (Reed) Dye at Chase Memorial Hospital in New Berlin, NY on August 14, 1947.

She grew up on a farm in the Columbus area and graduated from New Berlin Central School in 1965.  After completing high school she was married to Raymond Bice for 13 ½ yrs and had three wonderful children whom she loved very much.

Janice was employed by Pete Reagan & Aviva Schneider at their pottery shop on Shacktown Mountain for a number of years.  She then babysat for three wonderful children; Brittany, Dylan and Rileigh Mumbulo whom she treated as her own grandchildren.  She later worked at Chensego Veterinary Clinic in New Berlin until their retirement.  She also was a caregiver for Sarah Galley the daughter of David and Kathy Galley.

Janice greatly loved her New York Giants and watching her grandchildren with their sports.  She loved riding horses and her art for making cards for special occasions.  She enjoyed reading and doing the Daily Star Crossword Puzzles.

Janice is survived by her daughters, Joette (Tom) Dane, Andrea (Terry Webb) Bice and her son, Matt Bice as well as her grandchildren Branden & Karolyn Barker, Lucas (Jessica Dunham), Gus and Thomas Jr. Dane and her great grandchildren, Trinitie, Kilie, Logan, and Dakota.  She is also survived by her brothers; Richard (Kathy) Dye and Fred (Lynette) Dye as well as her nieces and nephews Tim, Tom, Steve, Jason, Angela, and Laura and their children and spouses.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Memorial donations may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care of Otsego or to the Edmeston Emergency Squad.

A graveside service will be held for family and friends at a later date.

Comments Peter and I just learned of Janice's passing and we send the entire family our best wishes during this difficult time. We treasure our memories of Janice; she was a wonderful person and we always felt so fortunate to have her work with us. She made outstanding contributions to our business and was always pleasant and a pleasure to be around. We especially send our best to Fred and Lynette and their children, and to Janice's children.
