Obituaries & Condolences

Beatrice KukulichLaurie C. Rockwell of Morris NY

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, David Rockwell of Morris, NY, sons, Gannon Rockwell of Morris, NY, Jarrett (Christina) Rockwell of Hopewell, VA, granddaughter, Brayleigh (the love of her life), brother, Jerry (Pamela) Crandall of Lyons, NY, step-father Harry (Kathleen) Larkin of West Edmeston, NY and her pet companion “Maggie”.

She is also survived by special friends, Peter and Valerie McCann, Kate Henderson and special aunt (her second Mom) Polly Chabot along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  A special thanks to Murphy Home Care for exceptional compassionate services provided during Laurie’s time of need.

The “Most Compassionate and Most Caring” Award was presented to Laurie during her graduation ceremony in 1985 from the Otsego Area School of Practical Nursing.  It has been very evident that this was a very deserving award which was demonstrated through the many years of loving care she provided to her patients, co-workers, family and friends.  She was very giving and always willing to help those in need, even if she didn’t know them.

The family is very grateful for all the care, love and support provided by the many health care providers, family and friends whom helped Laurie and the family during this difficult time.

Oh What a loss of a great woman. Because I grew up next door to her and her family we go back a lot of years. I especially remember her helping me get through the tough times during Doran's death. Laurie was my rock. Though the years have taken us down different paths, I look forward to the day we can walk side by side again and chat about our day like we did so many years ago. Love to all the family Dave, Gannon and Jarrett. She is certain to be making her mark in heaven already. Love Always, Diana

To say Laurie was the sweetest, funniest and kindest lady I've ever known doesn't even scratch the surface.
She was a great friend and I will miss her terribly. My prayers go out to Dave and family and of course, Maggie, who I'm sure misses
those "walks on the hill".

I worked with Laurie at Fox Hospital and she was one of the best. She was also my Nurse at Dr.Fox's office and I just saw her in November so I am shocked to learn this terrible news. Laurie was very kind and caring, and she was an excellent Nurse. May her family find peace and strength at this difficult time. RIP Laurie.

I was so sad to read of Laurie's death. I was in LPN school with her and as others have said, she certainly did deserve the award she received. She was one of the most caring, generous people I have known. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a warm smile. The world has lost a very sweet woman. My condolences to her family.
