Obituaries & Condolences

Rosalind T. Kupris (nee Boothby) passed away at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY, November 17th surrounded by a loving family. She was born in Buffalo, NY, September 14th 1941, to Rosella (Marie) Goodsell and Charles Boothby and was raised Roman Catholic. Her younger years were spent on Grand Island where she learned how to swim in the Niagara River. She went to school in Towanda and after graduating married Louis A. Kupris Jr. They had three children and were predeceased by their first child Camille Rose Kupris and her grand daughter Hannah Rose Davis. Surviving are Diana and Shaundra along with their families. Diana Lynn Kupris-Mettler and Martin Mettler, Lauren Mettler, Joseph Mettler, and Isaac Mettler of Sherburne. Shaundra Marie Davis and John Davis Sr., Gwendolyn Davis and John Davis Jr. of Burlington Flats.

Rosalind T. Kupris and Louis Kupris Jr raised their family away from the hustle and bustle of city life in and around Buffalo and moved to Central NY close to paternal family to enjoy simple country living. She was active in the NY State Archaeology Society and Broken Squares in Norwich, NY. Rosalind was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Methodist Church in Earlville, NY where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She was also an accountant at Colgate University in Hamilton, NY. Most of all she loved her family and took care of them as best she could. In a close second, music played her heartstrings.

I always enjoyed talking with Roz. Thinking back a year or more I remember talking with her a couple of times on the phone, but they were short calls. I think she had some other stuff she had to do. She did have insight into many things, I think. I'm sorry. I do look forward to seeing you all at calling hours on Monday. And I obviously did find the right place to go. I had the spelling wrong. I've been listening to Lauren's CDs and there're probably some that I will air. Love to you all.
