David L. Eckert Sr., 58 yrs. old of New Berlin, NY passed away at his home with his family at his side on April 8, 2017.

David was born on May 26, 1958 in New Berlin, NY son of Frederick Sr. and Beverly Eckert. He spent his childhood in the New Berlin area and was a graduate of New Berlin Central School.

David is survived by his wife Penny and his two children; a son David L. Eckert Jr. of New Berlin and a daughter Jamie Hoyt of South New Berlin and grandchildren Jared, Shelby and Chloe Hoyt. He also leaves his brothers Wendall (Bud) Eckert and Fredrick L. Eckert Jr. He was predeceased by his sisters Betty Harshbarger and Charlotte Schermerhorn.

David worked at Walmart in the maintenance department in Oneonta.   He was for many years, a volunteer fire fighter for the Pittsfield Fire Department. He was a valuable member of the community and will be greatly missed.

At his request there will be no services.
