Nancy Schoonover

Nancy Jane Rose Schoonover 1943 – 2017

Heaven received a beautiful angel Monday morning, March 13, 2017 in the privacy of her own home with her loving family by her side.

Nancy was born on February 22, 1943 in the town of New Berlin, NY, daughter of the late Kenneth and Grace (Abrams) Rose. She grew up in the Edmeston area alongside her two brothers.

She had a passion for reading, photography and most of all, her family. She married Richard Schoonover on August 20, 1960. The two shared a beautiful marriage full of family and faith of 56 years where she was an active member of the West Edmeston Baptist Church. The marriage sparked a love of racing, making her Dick’s #1 fan on and off the track.

Nancy was a loving mother of 4 and devoted her life to her children and her husband. She was a proud Edmeston Panther’s fan who supported her kids, grandkids; everyone else’s kids and never failed to keep stats at every game.

Nancy is survived by her husband Richard Schoonover; Children Mark (Barbie) Schoonover, Karen (Bud) Bressett, Kathy (Dennis) Prillaman, and Mike (Sue) Schoonover; Grandchildren Mandy (Bobbie), Mandel (Laura) Carnrike, Brandon (Diane), Derek (Cady) Schoonover, Brooke, Bryant, Brenon Maynard; Kendra, Paige and Kelsey Bressett, Quinn Schoonover and Zachary Prillaman; eight great grandchildren; Brother Dennis (Sue) Rose and the entire extended Schoonover/Rose family and friends. She predeceased by her parents and brother, Andrew.

Calling hours will be Saturday March 18, 2017 at the West Edmeston Baptist church from 10am – 12pm. Services to follow.

Floral arrangements should be sent to the West Edmeston Baptist Church.

The family would also like any contributions in memory of Mom to be made to Catskill Area Hospice, West Edmeston Baptist Church or a charity of one's choice....
