Bill and my mother, Ann Hurlbut Phillips, were 1st cousins by sharing Francis Marion and Sarah Belle McClellan/d as grandparents in Guthrie, Oklahoma.  Bill and Mom took Amtrak to California to visit family and had a fabulous time. Bill and I talked via phone often as he hated electronic communications. He shared he worked with Mom’s father, Francis D Hurlbut in NYC when Granddad was compiling the Hurlbut family tree. Bill helped research and was such a forthright guy. I was saddened to hear of his passing and was so grateful that Carrie H George Nichols let me know. Bill kegt us a beautiful legacy with the Rinehart/McClellan/d ancestry albums. We are all so much more enlightened from his extensive researching. He sent beautiful Holiday cards and is very much missed. Blessings to his nephews, nieces, and sister Betty Jean. Please feel free to contact me to keep his memory alive.

See you on the other side Cousin. You are loved and missed

Harry William Rinehart, most folks knew him by ‘Bill,’ but he was always ‘Harry’ to my Mother, Wanetta M. McClellan-George & Father, Charley W. George. My Mother and Harry were cousins through their McClellan/d Grandparents. Harry was the family historian for our McClellan-d/Rinehart family branch of the tree. I’d just gotten interested in Genealogy through my Mother and had talked with Harry on the phone, but had never gotten to meet him, until in September of 2016. We had planned on spending a few days with Harry, me for the first time, my parents had been there many times before, but as in life, other family members visiting at the same time cut our visit too short. My parents and I had been talking about going to see Harry again, but sadly, that was not to be. We just found out about his death this last Friday. He will be missed by his McClelllan-d/Rinehart family. We LOVE and miss you Harry. Rest now, until we meet again.

Harry was a kind and helpful neighbor to my Mother and so deeply appreciated. Our family enjoyed having Harry as part of our gatherings , he always had so many interesting stories and historical facts. He will be so missed. He always had a big smile and a really big kind heart. I am convinced that he is singing with the choirs of angels as I am writting this. We have lost a truly devoted Christian .

Thoughtful is the word that comes to mind when thinking of Harry. We first became friends of faith then that expanded when we worked together on the Pittsfield historical book and calendars. Learned so much from him. Will miss receiving his greeting cards throughout the year.
