Obituaries & Condolences

Mary A. Jenison, 89 yrs. old of Pittsfield, NY, passed away on May 21, 2019 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta, NY.

Mary was delivered by a mid-wife on February 8, 1930 in Tivoli, NY at her grandfather’s home.  She was the daughter of Joseph P. & Helena (Hummel) Ritrovato.  Her childhood was spent in Tuckahoe, NY where she attended the local school. 

On August 24, 1952 she married Dean Jenison who predeceased her in 2005.

Mary served as a cooks’ helper in the cafeteria at the New Berlin Central High School for 26 years and at the cafeteria at Preferred Mutual Insurance Company for 10-12 years.  She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking, sewing, baking, playing softball, gardening and helping her husband Dean on the family farm.

She is survived by her son; Charles Jenison of Pittsfield, granddaughter; Megan Jenison (Michael Mumbulo), great granddaughter; Shaleigh West, 3 great grandsons; Austin Mumbulo and Bradyn and Garrett Jenison-Mumbulo and former daughter-in-law; Katie (Jenison) Fallon.  She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law; Paul and Patricia Ritrovato and brother-in-law George Kukulech.

In addition to her husband, Mary was predeceased by one son, Henry Jenison in 2012 and a sister, Betrice Kukuleh in 2016.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Dakin Funeral Home, LP, New Berlin, NY with Pastor Dick Anderson officiating. 

Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral service from 1:00-2:00 PM also at the funeral home.

The interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin, NY.

Memorial donations may be made to the New York FFA Foundation 9340 Long Pond Rd. Croghan, NY 13327.

I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Mary's Passing.
Myself and siblings spent many days on the farm and had many good times with Mary. I shall miss her,
my heartfelt condolences to all her family and may they all find comfort that she is at peace.
