Obituaries & Condolences

Patricia Dianne Martins, most recently of Cazenovia, NY, went to be with Jesus the morning of May 27, 2019 surrounded by family.

The second of three children, Patty was born in the village of New Berlin, NY on March 16, 1943 to Rachel Lloyd and Hawley Bagg.
Patty graduated from Edmeston Central School, and became an accomplished Registered Nurse having attended Houghton College and graduating from Columbia Presbyterian School of Nursing. She spent many years working as a nurse in various capacities starting in a children's hospital in NYC and retiring as a claims adjuster from Liberty Mutual insurance Company.

Of all the things Patty loved, from flowers to Angels to her country and a huge family celebration, none compared to the love she had for her family and especially that of her grandchildren.

Surviving are her three children Kimberlie, Valdaniel (Katie) Martins, Heather (Timothy) Ryan, Valdir, 11 grandchildren, her sister Joyce, brother Douglas, many nieces and nephews and countless friends, as well as her precious fur-baby and constant companion, Emma.
She was predeceased by her in-laws, both parents and sister in law, Bernadine Bagg.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Donald Retz, Debbie Goodfellow, Kerri Ogden, HCR Homecare, Changing Seasons, Hospice of CNY and the Fingerlakes, and Dr. J Christopher Stringer. The compassion and dignified care Patty received was incomparable and we are grateful for your contribution to her quality of life these last few months.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Eastern Hills Bible Church, 8277 Cazenovia Road, Manlius on Sunday June 23, 2019 at 2:30pm. Burial has taken place at Fairview Cemetery in New Berlin, NY.

In her memory please consider a contribution to Hospice foundation CNY, 990 7th North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088, or Clear Path for Veterans, 1223 Salt Springs Road, Chittenago, NY 13037.

Joyce and Family,
So sorry for your loss. Got to really know and enjoy Pat when she work, for a short time, at the BOCEs complex in Norwich.
Both being from Edmeston and you and Sandy being best buddies bonded us for sure.
She truly was a wonderful person and will be missed.

Dear Kim, please accept my deepest condolences to you and your family. I just today learned of your Mom's passing. We were in touch a few years ago when she lived in Caz, but sadly not often. I have such wonderful memories of her teaching my girls in Good News Club and helping them grow into volunteers in summer Good News clubs with your Grandmother Rachel. A very special memory is of Patty bringing her sweet little 3year old daughter, Kimberlie to my Happy Time Preschool. 😊 Patty was a great supporter and Prayer Partner in that effort to train little ones in excellence in education and Godly character. I was privileged to have known your Mom and to have shared in her life for several years. God Bless you Kimberlie and all your family.
Sincerely, with love and hugs
