Obituaries & Condolences

Richard O'Hara of New Berlin died late Friday night, June 7, 2019 at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich, NY. Richard passed peacefully after a battle with cancer, in the company of loved ones. We are so proud of "Dad", and his long fight was inspiring to family and friends.

Richard was born in Walton, NY on May 11, 1938, the son of James and Vivian O'Hara. He served in the United States Air Force when he was old enough to enroll and served his country faithfully for 4 years. Upon returning to the area, he worked in construction operating heavy machinery until his retirement.

Richard was a great father, grandfather, and friend to many. He enjoyed hunting, wildlife, playing cards, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.

Richard was predeceased by 8 of his 9 siblings as well has his wife Linda. Richard is survived by his four children Terry Seidler, Teresa Moulton and husband Bill Moulton, Tina Dumar and husband Tom Dumar, and Richard O'Hara II and Amy Ronk. He is also survived by his five grandchildren (Cherice, Krystal, Thomas, Zachary and Aiden) as well as his six great grandchildren (Katrina, Trevor, Kaleb, Gemma, Olivia and Skya).

The family would like to thank the staffs of Hospice of Chenango County and Chenango Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care and support that they provided to Richard and his family during his final days.

Per the wishes of Richard, services will not be held, and the family will celebrate his life in private.
