George A. Dickinson, 88 yrs. old of South New Berlin, NY passed away on May, 29, 2020 in Oxford, NY.

George was born on July 23, 1931 in Walden, NY the son of George A. & Ruth A. (Lennon) Dickinson. 

He served in a medical camp while in the US Army during the Korean War.  Later, he worked as an accountant for the DelawareValley Hospital in Walton, NY and served as the Vice President of Finance for Chenango Memorial Hospital.

George was a member of the American Legion Post 1339, St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, South New Berlin, the Masonic Lodge, Healthcare Financial Management Association, South New Berlin Library Board, Four County Library Board, South Central Research Library Council Board and served as a Councilman for the New Berlin Town Board.

He is survived by his wife; Sharon L. (Williams) Dickinson, daughter; Janet Burgess, 2 granddaughters; Heidi (Jason) Hoagland & Danielle (Todd) Parker, 9 great grandchildren; Zachary, Gavin, Nicholas, Dalton, Laquoia, Luke, Lily, Madison & Miley, 3 Sisters; Anita (Carl) Schmitz, Wendy (Dominic) Caldiero & Nancy (Douglas) Vitarius, sister-in-law; Virginia Hayes and several nieces & nephews.

He was predeceased by sisters; Marie Stanlonus, Shirley Dickinson and brothers-in-law; Joseph Stanlonus & Donald Hayes.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Butternuts Cemetery, Gilbertsville, NY with Father Steve White of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, South New Berlin, NY or the Alzheimer’s Association.
