Obituaries & Condolences

Linda Kukulech, 60 yrs. old of Edmeston & New Berlin, NY passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from complications due to cancer surgery.

Linda was born the middle child of William and Lenora (Larrabee) Kukulech on June 8th,1960.  She attended Edmeston Central School, graduating in 1978.  After attending MVCC and graduating from SUNY Oneonta, she began her 33-year employment with Pathfinder Village.
Linda loved her work at the Pathfinder Village.  Beginning as an aide, she worked in many areas of Pathfinder Village, including finding her passion in the recreation department and coaching some of their Special Olympics teams.  With the Pathfinder’s employees and residents over the years, Linda found a second family that she credited with teaching confidence and a drive to go after what she wanted.

Linda loved her Pathfinder “guys”, including “her boy Andrew” who became a part of our family holidays, country music, especially Neil McCoy.  She enjoyed going to see many country performers live and she couldn’t fall asleep without her iPod on.  She also was also a life-long fan of Barry Manilow and traveled to Las Vegas to see him perform for her 60th birthday.  She was a big sports fans and could quote stats with the best of the guys.  She was a huge Yankee fan and like all the ladies in the family, she was a die-heart Dallas Cowboy fan.  (It made for some great family viewing parties with the male members of the family being Giants fans) She loved to bowl and her Thursday Nights at the New Berlin Bowling Lanes.  She always enjoyed photography, crafts, including knitting and sewing (her great niece was sure there wasn’t anything Aunt Linda couldn’t repair with a needle & thread) and had spent a lot of time researching family genealogy.

Linda is survived by her siblings Keith (Garrettsville) Ginny Marasco (Chittenango) Lois LoPresti (Norwich) and Nancy Swertfager (Norwich), nieces Danelle Nolan (Norwich) Heather York (Ocala, FL) Ashley Depew (Fly Creek) Lea Peet (Norwich) Allie LoPresti (Norwich) and Sydney Kukulech (Cherry Valley), her great nieces and nephews, and her beloved pets Natasha (her dog) and Leggings (her cat)

A celebration of her life will take place in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Pathfinder Village Foundation, 3 Chenango Road, Edmeston, NY 13335-2314.
