Faith Jeanne Wenz Yurenka of Burlington Flats passed away on May 29, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born to Betty Davis and Frank Hall Wenz on January 24, 1947 in Utica, N.Y.
She spent her childhood in Cassville, N.Y. and Brownsville, Texas where she attended schools and graduated from Edmeston Central School.
On March 8, 1967 she married Daniel Rexford Yurenka at the Lutheran Church in West Burlington, N.Y.
Faith was a Registered Nurse and worked for many years at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown and then NYCAN in Fly Creek. She was known for her willingness to help anyone in any situation and was a friend to many people from all walks of life. Faith was her husband’s right hand and assisted him in all his businesses and adventures. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and President of the Butternut Valley Cemetery Association in Burlington Flats.
Besides her husband of 53 years she is survived by her children Ann Yurenka of Burlington Flats and Steve Yurenka at home, grandchildren Kayla Lum of New Jersey, Ashley Eldred of Burlington Flats and great grandchildren Dustin, Conner, and Branton Lum, her brother Frank H. and Linda Wenz of Burlington Flats, and sister-in-law Judy Nathan of Maryland.
A grave site service will be held at a later date with Pastor Ann Zimmerman of the Lutheran Church officiating in the Butternut Valley Cemetery, Burlington Flats.
The family requests that donations in Faith’s memory may be made to the Butternut Valley Cemetery Association, 1352 County Highway 16, Burlington Flats, N.Y.
A celebration of life will be held at the Yurenka home in Burlington Flats on 6/20. Refreshments will be served. |
