Obituaries & Condolences

Paul Wayne Lindholm, 74 yrs. old of Pittsfield, NY passed away on October 3, 2021 at his home.

Paul was born on October 5, 1946 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich, NY the son of John Edward Alexander Lindholm and Mary Ellen Dunham Lindholm.  His childhood was spent on his grandparent’s farm in New Berlin, NY and with his parents in Queens, NY.  He was a 1965 graduate of New Berlin Central School and a 1994 Graduate of SUNY Morrisville with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. 

Paul was employed by UPS in Staten Island, NY, Bendix Corp from 1972-1992 and Valley Ridge C.I.T. until his retirement in 2005.  He served in the Army of the United States from 2/14/66 – 2/13/65.  He was honorably discharged following his tour of duty in Vietnam during which time he received a purple heart. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of New Berlin.

On August 24, 2019, Paul married JoAnn Mayer Lindholm in New Berlin, NY.  She survives him.

In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his children; Jim Lindholm & Holly of Herkimer, NY, Scott Lindholm & Jamie of New Berlin, NY, Nicole & Adam Phillips of Wolcott, NY, Alex & Marjorie Lindholm of Binghamton, NY, Christina LeGuillow of N. Haledon, NJ, Amado LeGuillow of E. Orange, NJ, Anastacia & Michael DeMauro of Odessa, FL and Angelica Venidis of Odessa, FL.  He is also survived by grandchildren; Skot, Gavin, Adison, Emily, Myila, Hanna, Logan, John, Brayden, Jaxen, Erin, Hana, David and Briella.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Dakin Funeral Home, LP, New Berlin, NY.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, New Berlin, NY  with Lay Pastor Penny Harrington officiating.  The interment will be held in the Prattsville Cemetery.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Helios Care in Oneonta and the VA for their excellent care and support.

Paul was truly a beautiful and selfless person.   He was always kind, loving and helpful to his family and friends.
We will cherish the memories of enjoying his company when he would stop by for a visit when traveling to or from  his yearly trip to Florida.
He will be missed, Love you Paul.

I have many fond  memories growing up with  paul as a  real  friend .  We traveled to  statin island together  to  viset Paul's parents in  the  60 ths.  We  served  in  Viet Nam together ' and  spent  many  years hunting  and  cooking out  at  his  house.  God  bless  Pauls family ; in  knowing that  Paul was a real Hero.   Rest  in  peace  Paul
