Obituaries & Condolences

On September 16th, 2022, Donna M. Ambrose, 60 yrs. old of New Berlin passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Donna was born on September 3, 1962, to Richard S. Margarum and Vita M. Margarum who have predeceased her.  She was born in Warwick, NY.

She is survived by her siblings, Richard Margarum of Bainbridge, Maida Walts of Utica, Kathy Margarum of Earlville, and Scott Margarum of Morris.

They spent their childhood moving around from town to town, farm to farm.  They settled in New Berlin and that is when Donna met the love of her life, Daniel Ambrose.  After a fun and romantic courtship, Danny and Donna were married.  At this time, she worked at Chase Nursing Home in New Berlin as an aide.  She loved working with the residents.

Shortly after settling into marriage, Danny and Donna welcomed their first child, Samantha, currently residing in Sherburne.  A bit later they welcomed their second child, Brianne, currently residing in Norwich.  Donna became a stay-at-home mother and homemaker.

She loved baking, her cats, TV shows, karaoke, and games, but most of all, time spent with family and friends.  She was a loving and caring grandmother.  Samantha blessed her with four grandchildren: Trevor, Aurora, Brody, and Scarlett.  Brianne blessed her with two, Gabriella and Tinsley.  Donna loved nothing more than a cozy day spent with family.
Surviving Donna are her husband, children, siblings, countless nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and she loved them all.  She also loved her in-laws.  Family was her “thing”.

Donna wanted it to be known she did not lose her battle with cancer; she won by releasing herself from it.   Donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

A celebration of life will be held October 9, from 1:00-5:00 PM at the North Norwich Town Hall.  Please wear bright colors, dancing shoes and be ready to celebrate her life.  Her death was only but a paragraph in the book of Donna M. Ambrose.
