Obituaries & Condolences

Clarence E. Gould, 90 yrs. old of New Berlin, NY passed away on August 30, 2022, in Cooperstown, NY. 

Clarence was born on November 11, 1931, in Brookfield Township, NY the son of Herbert & Pearl Gould.  His childhood was spent in the West Edmeston area.  He was the owner and operator of C.E. Gould Trucking Company and was a self-employed contractor doing mechanical repairs for Huttig Building Product of Middletown, CT.  He retired in 2019.  He was a member of the Holmesville Baptist Church, South New Berlin, NY.

On July 20, 2019, he married Doris (Lauria) Gould in South New Berlin, NY.  She survives him.

In addition to his wife, Clarence is survived by his children; Jacqueline Keithan of Cormwell, CT, Jill Negrelli of Middletown, CT, Jeff Gould of Cromwell, CT, Jay Gould of Middletown, CT, and Kimberly Leonard of Rocky Hill, CT as well as his stepchildren; Patricia Crawford of Decatur, TX, Joseph Gould of New Berlin, NY, Michele Lloyd of New Berlin, NY and Rita Gould of Mesa, AZ.  He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 17 step great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Jessie (Moore) Gould, his children; Judith Gould and Clarence Gould, Jr., and his siblings; Neva Maxson, Betty Gould and Stewart Gould.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022, at the Holmesville Baptist Church, South New Berlin, NY at 2:00 PM.  Calling hours will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  The interment will be in the West Edmeston Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Holmesville Baptist Church, 3024 NY 8, South New Berlin, NY  13843.
