MATTHEW LOUIS PUSKAS Born: March 8, 1959 Died: October 12, 2023

Matt was a life-long Barnegat Light resident. He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to many.

Matt graduated Southern Regional High School in the class of 1977. He spent his younger years as a commercial fisherman, working on his family's boats. Matt survived a fishing mishap being tangled in a line with a whale and two at sea boat sinkings. He then worked for 37 years at Viking Village.

Matt is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cheryl Tomasco Puskas, his daughter, Jennifer Puskas Gorman and husband Chris, his sons, Mathew Louis, Jr., and Andrew Colin Puskas. He has three grandchildren, Alanna and Connor Gorman and Anderson Puskas. He is also survived by his mother Frances E. Puskas and his two brothers, Paul and John Puskas. He also was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Matt was predeceased by his father Captain Louis Puskas, Jr., and his brother, Little Lou.

Services are to be held at the Harvey Cedars Bible Conference, located at 12 Cedars Avenue, Harvey Cedars, NJ, on Saturday, November 4, 2023, with receiving line beginning at 1:30 p.m. and a service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations go to South New Berlin Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad in South New Berlin, New York.

A donation box will be provided on the day of the service. Matt loved the time he spent at his family farm ni New Berlin. He loved the peace and tranquility of the mountains and his beloved pond.
