Doris Clapp

Doris Irene Clapp, 74 yrs. old of the Town of Columbus , passed away on January 2, 2019 at her home on 1155 New Turnpike Rd, Sherburne, NY.

Doris was born on July 25, 1944 in Delhi, NY the daughter of Halbert & Hazel (Oliver) Davis.  Her childhood was spent in the New Berlin area where she attended New Berlin Central School.

On November 23, 1963, Doris married Robert Clapp Sr., her husband of 55 years.

She was employed by McDonalds and Burger King restaurants of Norwich for many years.  She was a member of the Columbus Community Church of Columbus, NY and her hobbies included quilting, wood working, flower arranging and gardening.  She also loved riding her Can Am Spider 3 wheeler.

In addition to her husband Robert, Doris is survived by her son; Robert Clapp Jr. of South Plymouth, NY, daughter; Barbara Jean Clapp of Cooperstown, grandchildren; Cindy Shell, Ben Shell, Alan Clapp & Dillon Clapp as well as several great grandchildren and one brother; Ralph Davis of Slaterville, NY.

A service will be held at a later date.
