DAVID ELWYN CLARK
New Berlin, NY – David Elwyn Clark, 84, passed away surrounded by his family on March 4th, 2021 at Wilson Hospital. He was born on September 8, 1936, the son of Levi Leslie Clark and Rose Frances (Ryder) Clark in Cortland, NY.

David graduated from McGraw Central High School in 1952, then served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean conflict from 1955 and honorably discharged in 1957. After his service he attended SUNY Morrisville and Syracuse University, graduating with a degree in Accounting. In 1958 he married Carolyn Ann Coombs living in Morrisville, Mattydale and Tully before settling in New Berlin in 1969. They celebrated 62 years of marriage in November, 2020.

David operated the Del-Ot Farm Supply hardware business, serving farmers in many surrounding counties. He truly enjoyed the friendships he established while meeting the needs of all the farmers he came in contact with. He enjoyed umpiring Little League baseball games and was a Cub Scout Master for a few years. David enjoyed throwing horseshoes and bowling in his spare time, and making wooden trains and toys for children in his workshop.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Donald, a sister, Joyce and two grandsons. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his brother John, his children, Duane(Lana), Mark, Raymond(Barbara), Elizabeth (Bruce), Brent, David II(Michelle), Rebecca & Daniel(Staci), 12 Grandchildren, three Great-Grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.


A burial service will be held in the Spring for family and close friends at the McLean Cemetery in McLean, NY.
