Catherine Irene Foote Danaher, 87 yrs old of Norwich, NY passed away on June 23, 2015 in Utica, NY.
Catherine was born on August 19, 1927 in Wilbraham, MA the daughter of Clinton L. & Dorothy (Sherwin) Foote. Her childhood was spent in the Wilbraham & Springfield MA areas where she was a 1945 graduate of the High School of Commerce. On June 7, 1947 she married Bernard Rickard Danaher in Thomaston, CT. Bernard predeceased her on February 13, 2015.
Catherine was a bookkeeper at Seth Thomas Clocks Co, Inc. and Thomaston supply Company in Thomaston, CT and was also a bookkeeper/office manager for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Chenango County, 4-H Program retiring in December 1986 after 21 years of service. She also assisted with the operation of the family dairy farm business for over 20 years and later helped with a small beef herd.
She is survived by her children; Robert R. Danaher, Sr. and his wife Shirley of West Burlington, NY; Eileen D. Wright and husband Frank of Stevens, PA as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers; Raymond Petke of Thomaston, CT and David C. Petke of Damascus, MD.
She was predeceased by one son; Timothy B. Danaher, Sr. and one sister; Dorothy F. Fox.
Catherine served as a 4-H leader in Chenango County for 25 years and served for 2 years as treasurer of the 4-H Leaders Association of Chenango County. She was also a 27 year member of the Beacon Grange #118 of Northfield, CT and a 25 year member of the Cooperative Extension Association of Chenango County, 4H program.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Dakin Funeral Home, LP of New Berlin, NY. Calling hours will be held from 12:00-1:00 PM prior to the funeral service also at the funeral home.
The interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Thomaston, CT at a later date .
