Ernest Emhof

Ernest Carl Emhof, 95 yrs. old of Anderson, SC, formerly of Edmeston, NY, passed away on August 4, 2019 in Anderson, SC.

Ernie was born on October 3, 1923 in Marcy, NY the son of Jacob John & Wilhelmina (Klossner) Emhof.  His childhood was spent in Edmeston, NY.  He was a graduate of Edmeston Central School and Mohawk Community College.  Ernie worked as a dairy farmer and was a mechanical engineer for various local factories in Central New York.

He attended the Lutheran and United Methodist Churches.  For over fifty years Ernie was active in the Edmeston and New Berlin Masonic Lodges and was also active in the Utica area Shriner’s. For over 35 years he was an active member of the New Berlin Chapter of Rotary International.

On December 25, 1945 Ernie married Victoria Osborn Emhof at the home of his parents in Edmeston, NY.  She predeceased him on September 8, 1994

Ernie is survived by his children; Robert & Barbara Emhof of Anderson & SC, Karl & Linda Emhof of Belton, SC as well as 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Burlington Flats Baptist Church, Burlington Flats, NY.  Calling h ours will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the funeral service.

The interment will be held in the Burlington Flats Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Edmeston American Legion, the Edmeston EMS or Burlington Flats Baptist Church.
