Stewart H. Gould, 78 yrs. old of New Berlin, NY passed away on October 21, 2016 at Chase Nursing Home, New Berlin, NY surrounded by his family.

Stewart was born on September 6, 1938 in West Edmeston, NY the son of Herbert & Pearl (Dougherty) Gould.  His childhood was spent in the West Edmeston area where he attended Edmeston Central School.  He later graduated from Mt. Upton Central School.

On September 17, 1961he married Doris Lauria, his beloved wife of 55 years.

Stewart served in the US Army from 1958 to 1962. He was employed as a produce manager for Victory Markets.  He was also employed by the Town of New Berlin Police Department and for 20+ years by Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals as a security officer. He was a member of the Berean Baptist Church of New Berlin where he served as treasurer.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed making maple syrup, golfing, bowling and farming with his brother-in-law, Clair.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa who loved to follow all of his children and grandchildren’s sports activities whether it be baseball, basketball, soccer, golf, football or hockey.

In addition to his wife Doris, Stewart is survived by his children; Patricia & Lynn Crawford of Pittsfield, NY, Joseph & Debbie Gould of New Berlin, Michelle & Ron Lloyd of Earlville and Rita & Glenn Schwartz of AZ as well as 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by two sisters; Neva Maxson & Betty Gould and one brother; Clarence Bud Gould and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 6:00-9:00 PM at the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin, NY.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Berean Baptist Church, New Berlin, NY with Pastor Dwight Kenyon officiating.

The interment will be held in the West Edmeston Cemetery with Pastor Aimir Din o fficiating.
