Joanne M. (Beeching) Gould, 69,
of Richmond, Maine and formerly of New Berlin, New York

Passed away on January 28, 2014 in Augusta, Maine.

Joanne was born in Oneonta, NY to Joseph and Hazel Beeching on March 20, 1944.  She attended school at New Berlin Central.  On June 16, 1962 she married her loving husband of 51 years, Raymond Gould.  For many years she ran a home-based daycare, where she provided affectionate and dedicated care to generations of children who knew her as Nanny.  She had a great love of family and was a wonderful cook, a talent she shared widely with her friends and community.

Joanne is survived by her husband Raymond, son Joseph Gould and his wife Kristy, of Gardiner, ME, daughter Monica Cahoone and her husband Donald, of Westerly, RI, brother Doug Beeching, of Ocala, FL,  grandchildren Joey, Brittany, Sara and Alyssa Gould, Alex Santerre, and Caleb and Nathan Cahoone, and great-grandson Carter Gould.  Joanne is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jim Beeching.

A celebration of Joanne’s life will be held on Saturday, February 8 at 2:00 p.m., at the Gardiner Lions Club, with Pastor Steven Knowles of Life Community Church officiating. A reception will follow at her son’s home. Burial and a gravesite service will be held in Edmeston, NY on May 25, 2014.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Joanne’s name be made to the Life Community Church community fund, PO Box 905, Gardiner, ME 04345.   The family of Joanne wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the dedicated staff of Gray Birch Rehabilitation for their affectionate care and support of Joanne, and the family, during her final months.
