Betsy Hall

Elizabeth "Betsy" Hall passed away this May18, 2019 in Costa Rica. She passed at the Hospital Calderon Guardia after a short illness.

Elizabeth Fraser Hall was born on Oct. 22, 1940 in Oneonta, NY to Jessica Gates Hall and Roger Bonner Hall. Her early years were spent with her Gates grandparents and Aunt Millie in Oneonta where she attended school and made many friends. In her teen years she moved to West Burlington with her parents and younger sisters and attended Edmeston Central School where she continued to make many more friends.

After high school she obtained a Beautician's license and owned and operated a beauty salon in Oneonta throughout the 1960's and 70's, giving the ladies of the era the most up to date and stylish looks.

Moving to Florida in the 1980s, Betsy earned a real estate license and had great success selling properties.

Liking the warmer climate she was enticed to move to Costa Rica where she managed and co-owned Nashville South Bar from 1998-2005 making it the "in" place to visit. She made her home in Costa Rica for the past 20 years.

Wherever she lived she always attracted many friends who remember her vivacious and charismatic personality. Everyone enjoyed her off the cuff jokes and sense of humor, especially in recent times with her Facebook following. A great entrepreneur she lived life as she wished and with plenty of gusto!

She is survived by 3 sons; Roger Cole and spouse Carol of Smithfield, North Carolina; Burton Cole of New Berlin, New York and Sean Christian of Otego, New York; 2 Sisters--- Susan Gates Hall Ackerman and spouse Richard of New Berlin, New York and Marina Bonner Hall Baird and spouse Donald of Milton, Delaware; grand-daughter Amber Cole and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life with family and friends will take place in the New Berlin area at a later date. Her ashes will be placed in Butternut Valley Cemetery in Burlington Flats, N. Y.
