Sarah “Sally” Lidell passed away peacefully on November 17, 2018 at Chase Nursing Home at the age of 93.
Sarah Frances Hardic Lidell (Sally) was born September 5, 1925 in Mehoopany PA, the daughter of Floyd and Helen (Robinson) Hardic. The family moved to Edmeston NY when Sally was 2 years old. She graduated from Edmeston Central School in 1944 and enlisted in the Cadet Nurse Corps, training at Hartwick College in Oneonta.
She had already met the love of her life, Wallace Lidell, and married him in 1947 upon his return from serving in the Army in Europe during WWII. They settled in South Edmeston, where they raised their 2 children: Tim and Susan. Sally spent her life caring for those she loved most: her husband, parents, in-laws, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also worked for New York Central Mutual Insurance company until her retirement in 1988. Her husband Wallace predeceased her in 2012. She is survived by her loving children, Tim (Connie) and their children Amy Grant (Marty and children Alicia, Colin and Brynn) and Angie Alger (Brad and son Owen), and Susan Klim (Brian) and their children Sean, Zachary (Philip) and Courtney Mazzone (JJ and children Finn and Kenneally). She also leaves her devoted niece Gail (Dave) Browning and nephew Chris (Carol) Geiselmann, along with 9 great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday November 21 from 11am until 1:00pm at Dakin Funeral Home LP in New Berlin, followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm at St Andrew’s Episcopal Church, New Berlin.
