Alfred Lloyd

Alfred Richard Lloyd passed away peacefully at his home in Pittsfield on January 25, 2020. He was welcomed in the home of Merritt and Lena Lloyd in New Berlin on June 30th, 1940.

Alfred spent his childhood in New Berlin where he attended school.
He married Kathleen Smith on November 16, 1990 at the home of Justice of Peace Christopher Burke in New Berlin. He worked for many years as a Pathological Assistant at the MIB Hospital, Cooperstown and for several years with the New Berlin Town Maintenance Crew and then at the Chase Memorial Nursing Home in New Berlin where many patients spoke about enjoying his sense of humor.

Alfred is survived by his wife, Kathleen, and his brother Roland Lloyd of New Berlin, his children Frederick Lloyd of Unadilla Forks, Debra Lloyd of Unadilla,  Ronnie Hamic Jr. of New Berlin, Billie Jo Florian of Tennessee, Lisa Angorsano  and family of Alabama.  He also leaves grandchildren, Kali- Darryl- and Justin Lloyd, Gus & Savanna Florian, Carl Vanpatan along with great grandchildren Rylan Burch, Grace Florian and Gracie Vanpatan.
Alfred had

a great love for his “critters” attending local auctions faithfully and frequently bringing more of them home.  He was known for being a kind humble man who maintained an exemplary attitude throughout his illness.
