Evelyn Hope Monroe passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving parents at the Walter RG Baker NICU at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY.

Evelyn Hope was born on April 29, 2024, at 3:49 PM weighing 6 lbs. 6.5 oz. and was 19.5 inches long.   During her 7 short days here on earth, Evelyn Hope brought great joy and love to her family.   Each day with Evelyn Hope will be cherished by her parents forever.

Evelyn Hope is the daughter of Matthew and Jenna (Eiholzer) Monroe of McDonough, NY.   Evelyn Hope is survived by three siblings; Marlea Jeneen, Hannah Irene and Jonathan Leonard, her paternal grandparents; Leonard and Peggy Monroe of East Pharsalia, her great grandmother, Cora Monell of East Pharsalia, her maternal grandmother, Althea Eiholzer of West Edmeston, her uncles, aunts and cousins, Garrett and Libby Eiholzer of Stanley and cousin, Cora Eiholzer, Josh and Manda Monroe of Penn Yan, Neah Pepper and cousin, Oliver Pepper of New Berlin.   Evelyn Hope is also survived by numerous great aunts, uncles, and cousins who though they didn’t have a chance to meet her, loved her.

Evelyn Hope was preceded in death by her grandfather, Joseph H. Eiholzer, her great aunt Sue P. Grainger, her great aunt, Margaret Bauer and her great grandfather, Donald M. Monell.

Matthew and Jenna would like to personally thank Evelyn’s nurse at the Crouse NICU, Alyssa, who did everything she could to save our dear Evelyn Hope. And, to Dr. Bou Aram, who provided us a small bit of closure at this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin, NY.
