Roger Porter

Roger I Porter passed away on April 24, 2021 at age 81. He was born on July 29, 1939 in Portlandville, NY to Stanley and Florence Porter.

He graduated from New Berlin Central School. He along with his father, brother and son owned Pittsfield Tire Center in Pittsfield, NY for over 50 years.He was predeceased by his parents, brother Reginald and sister Sharon. Roger was married to Mary Jane Ludington for 59 years.

He is survived by his wife Mary Jane and their four children,Jolene Porter(Laraine)of Fort Myers, Fl;Janette Holtham (Jeff); Scott Porter (Laura);Jaclyn Lund(Randy)Edmeston, NY. He also had eight granddaughters Courtney O’Connor, Chelsea Fassett, Madison Paradis, Mackenzieand Miranda Porter, Logan, Haylie and Taryn Lund. He also had great grandchildrenGertie Jane and Porter Fassett and Kellen O’Connor. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews along with many friendsfrom Pine Ridge in Fort Myers and Edmestonarea.

He was a former Edmeston fireman, Rotarian and Edmeston Town Board Member and Supervisor.T

here will be a Celebration of Life on June 18, 2021 from 3:00 –5:00pm at Pathfinder Village Pavilion. Friends are welcome to greet the family. Funeral arrangements by Dakin Funeral Home New Berlin, NY.Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Taylor Hill Cemetery Edmeston, NY.
