Janet was born on October 9, 1952 in Kingston, NY the daughter of Charles Sr. and Mabel (Ostrander) Bodie.  Her childhood was spent in the Kingston and New Berlin, NY areas.  She attended Kingston High School.

She is survived by her children; Roger & Bobbie Jo Shipman Jr. of Zebulon, NC and Kenneth & Andrea Ferguson Jr. of Norwich, NY as well as her grandchildren; Chad Shipman & Callie Winchester, Brandon Coffyn & Brooke Adams, Zeegan Shipman, Christopher Shipman, step grandchildren; Adam Ferguson, Kimberly Ferguson, Matthew Tucker and great grandson, Brayden Coffyn.  She is also survived by her sisters; Bonnie O’Dell, Mary Orbacz, Vivian Bodie, Mabel Coumbs, Jenny Osborne, Lee Foster, Chayanne Bodie , brothers; Charles Bodie Jr., Wayne Bodie and Dean Bodie , many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as life-long friends Ronnie Hayes and Helen Hoag

She was predeceased by her sisters; Phyllis Mott and Kandy Mendock and one brother, William Bodie.

Janet loved life and enjoyed dancing and traveling.  She had a very special love for her grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
